How Does Levon Manzie Manage His Paralysis
In 2006, at the age of 21, Levon Manzie was involved in a horrific car accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Despite the fact that he is now confined to a wheelchair, Levon has not let his paralysis get in the way of living an active and fulfilling life.
In order to manage his paralysis, Levon has had to learn how to do everything differently than he did before his accident.
For example, he can no longer brush his teeth or comb his hair with his arms like everyone else does. Instead, he has to use a special toothbrush and comb that are designed for people with limited arm mobility. Levon has also had to relearn how to eat and drink.
He can no longer pick up a fork or cup with his hands, so he uses a straw instead. And because swallowing can be difficult for people with paralysis, Levon makes sure to eat foods that are easy to chew and swallow. Despite the challenges posed by his paralysis, Levon has found ways to adapt and live a full life.
He is proof that even though your body may be broken, your spirit can remain strong.
